What is a Direct Cremation?
A direct cremation is an unattended funeral without a ceremony; this is ideal for those who don't want a service or ceremony prior to the cremation.
There is no procession or funeral service, so no requirements or extra costs such as a hearse and limousine, ministers fee. A direct cremation will take place without the attendance of any mourners.
The nature of this service means that there will be no embalming or viewing in the chapel of rest.
We cover all areas for direct cremations in the UK.
The direct cremation will include:
Collection, care and preparation of your loved one; your loved one will be dressed in a simple gown, supply of an oak veneered coffin fully lined and fitted, provision of our private ambulance, cremation and doctors fees for any crematorium of your choice, or our local crematorium.
Unattended cremation slot to be decided by the crematorium and J. Howell & Daughters.

Chapel of rest visits
Embalming
Obituaries
Order of Service
Floral Tributes
